Alterations Policy

At Finestitch & Co we strive to offer the best possible customer service in our class and industry.

On the first fitting, if the garment does not fit quite right, Finestitch & Co will complete all reasonable alterations to provide a well fitted garment. However Finestitch & Co reserve the right to refuse alterations if we consider the garment to fit appropriately. Any reasonable requests for alterations will be performed up to a value of $100 provided customer’s measurements were taken by a Finestitch & Co style consultant and a Finestitch & Co preferred Alteration Tailor is used to perform the alterations.

Conditions

Instances where Finestitch & Co will not cover alteration costs include:

  • If the alteration is directly related to a change in order requirement from the Customer once the garment has already been produced.
  • If the Customer has provided his own measurements and has not been measured by a Finestitch & Co style consultant.
  • If the Customer goes against the recommendation or measurement taken by the Finestitch & Co style consultant and insists on a particular measurement or style.
  • If the Customer’s measurements have changed from the date of measurement to the date of fitting.
  • If the Customer’s measurements change down the track – we do not provide a fit guarantee for the lifetime of the garment!
  • If an alteration tailor other than a Finestitch & Co preferred Alteration Tailor is used to perform the alterations – most other tailors are overpriced and do not provided favourable rates.

Perfected Fit for Future Orders

Once your suit is altered, we will update your measurements in our records to reflect the adjustment so that subsequent suits you order will be to your exact preferences and fitting. It will be as easy as selecting the fabric and giving us the go ahead next time you require a suit!

In the rare and unusual case your garment is deemed unalterable (subject to the above conditions); we will remake it for you.

The Process

Once you come in for a fitting and any adjustments required have been identified, take your suit along with the Alterations Form that we will provide to you, to the Finestitch & Co preferred Alteration Tailor. Our tailor will perform the alterations and bill us directly. You will not be required to pay for the alteration, unless the bill exceeds $100, in which case you will only be liable to pay the cost above $100. Items that are made to your measurements and specifications will rarely ever need alterations in excess of $100.
