Thank you Richard for your feedback.

That's correct a made-to-measure (MTM) slim fit tailored suit will look and feel a little more snug compared to a off-the-rack suiting product because the suit is made exact to your body measurements and body shape - so if you haven't tried MTM clothing yet, try it! It maybe the best thing you did for your wardrobe and your personal appearance.

Regards,

Bally

got my first mtm slim fit suit, looks very nice, but it does feel very snug compare to off rack slim fit suits, so it will take some time to get used to.

This is due to higher arm holes and not too much excess materials on the back of the suit...

Sorry about the very late response as we've been very busy lately! This sort of suit with shiny/glittery material and a satin border would be best worn in a party setting - more so suited to a dance or a super-trendy wedding! Although it is a unique type of material and suit, it is not very versatile and you would not get too many wears out of it - you could probably wear it twice max before it is exiled to the depths of your wardrobe.

Ok, it's similar to this suit:

http://fiw3.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/cncc-mo19_v1-big.jpg

But the fabric is different (see above posted fabric) and the satin border color is not black but dark brown.

Thanks.

I'm thinking of buying a slight "glittering" fabric suit that has a dark brown satin border on notched lapels (similar to Jackson Rathbone's suit above).

The actual fabric pic (this is an enlarged photo, those "glittering" dots are actually smaller in reality): http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa128/TheCounting/fabric.jpg

Is it advisable to wear such suit during a wedding? Work? Dinner and Dance?

Thanks.

Pinstripe suits should generally be reserved for work and business. I would suggest a self-stripe black suit as opposed to a pinstripe. Self-stripe is where the stripe is embossed in the material and is not of a different colour. A Satin Lapel would look great on such a suit - very classy.

Can you get away with wearing a pinstripe black suit for your own wedding and will a satin lapel look good on it?

Yes the shawl lapel can be on a wedding suit, however you would not be able to wear it afterwards to work, as a shawl lapel is not appropriate in the work place. You could wear it again to parties and other formal events however.

Great question Karan - we shall write a more detailed blog about the different types of fabrics and weaves soon.
But to answer your question, the herringbone pattern has short rows of slanted lines. Each row slants in the opposite way, so when side by side, it actually looks like a zigzag pattern. There can be varying thicknesses of the herringbone pattern.
In terms of the Oxford cloth, it is basically a basket weave pattern - where fibres are woven in a cross-hatch formation. The Oxford weave can also come in various levels of tightness in the weave, and is a great cloth when it comes to washing and ironing.
Hopefully this description answers your question, but of course a picture speaks a thousand words so stay tuned for the blog that will show the different weaves available, with pictures!
